A comprehensive, evidence-based fitness curriculum designed specifically for Parkinson's disease.
Rock Steady Boxing is designed as a membership-based program because consistency, community, and ongoing support matter. Our members benefit from regular in-person classes, coaching, encouragement, and connection with others who are fighting back together. For those who are not able to attend consistently, we also offer class pack options to provide more flexibility. And when members need to train from home, we include remote access to our classes so they can keep moving, stay connected, and continue building strength wherever they are.
Classes are taught by Certified Rock Steady Boxing Coaches and include an exercise program that attacks Parkinson's at its vulnerable neurological points. While focusing on overall fitness, strength training, reaction time and balance, workouts include:
🥊 Stretching and warm-up
🥊 Focus mitts and footwork
🥊 Balance and agility exercises
🥊 Heavy bag work
🥊 Core strength training
🥊 Vocal and cognitive drills
Before starting classes, all potential boxers must schedule and ideally complete a 60 minute assessment with one of our coaches. This allows us to:
⚡ Understand your specific Parkinson's symptoms and history
⚡ Evaluate your current balance, strength, and mobility
⚡ Determine the safest and most effective class level for you
⚡ Establish baseline metrics to track your progress
Rock Steady Boxing – the Carolinas now offers prepaid 6-month and 12-month membership options that provide meaningful savings for members who prefer to pay in advance. We also understand that life with Parkinson’s can bring unexpected changes — including health issues, treatment interruptions, caregiving needs, or relocation.
For that reason, our prepaid membership terms include clear flexibility around eligible freezes, cancellations, and pro rata refunds. More information about refunds, cancellations, relocation, medical interruptions, and related membership terms can be found in the document below:
